PRINCE FREDERICK FORD AND CALVERT HIGH SCHOOL PARTNER TO RAISE OVER $1000 FOR CALVERT HIGH SCHOOL
-Test-drive fundraising event generated much-needed money for Calvert High School, helping students in the local community.
PRINCE FREDERICK, MD– Prince Frederick Ford, Calvert High School and members of the local community raised approximately $1000 for Calvert High School’s Athletic Department at a recent test-drive event, as part of Ford Motor Company’s Drive 4 UR School program. More than 53 Calvert County area residents test-drove a Ford vehicle at Calvert High School last September 14th, 2013. Prince Frederick Ford and Ford Motor Company donated $20, with funds going toward the Calvert High School Athletics Department.
Since the program’s inception in 2007, the Drive 4 UR School program has generate more than $16 million in donations for high schools nationwide. The money raised during the Drive 4 UR School program has helped ensure that extracurricular actives like sports and music programs continue in local communities despite budgetary constraints and funding cuts.
“I am more than thrilled that so many people from the local community turned out to support Calvert High School and I’ve never been more proud to be a Ford dealer. Participants had the chance to take a fun, casual drive in one of our vehicles, while lending our students and community a much-needed helping hand,” said Robert Badman, General Manager of Prince Frederick Ford.
“With all the cutbacks in school budgets, finding creative ways to fund-raise is imperative,” said Jeremy Kurutz, Calvert High School. “The money from Ford will make a difference to our students and it says a lot about who they are as a company. The money raised on September 14th, 2013 will help our athletics department.”
